Today, Shreyas could become the fastest Indian batsman to score 3,000 runs in One Day International cricket. Currently, the Indian record for the fewest innings to complete 3,000 ODI runs is held by Shikhar Dhawan, but Iyer has a golden opportunity to surpass it.

Shreyas Iyer has so far scored 2,966 runs in 68 innings of ODI cricket. If he manages to add 34 runs in the match on Wednesday, he will complete 3,000 runs in just 69 innings. If this happens, he will break Shikhar Dhawan’s record, who achieved this milestone in 72 innings.
