Joe Root Breaks Sachin Tendulkar’s Big Record:  England’s star batsman Joe Root scored just 29 runs in the first innings of the fifth and final Test match being played against India at the Oval on Friday, 1 August, but during this time he broke a record that was in the name of Sachin Tendulkar for years.

Joe Root has now become the second batsman to score the most Test runs in England (at a home ground). He has scored 7220 runs in England so far, while Tendulkar had scored 7216 runs in India. That is, Root has left the Master Blaster behind in terms of scoring runs on home grounds. Now Ricky Ponting (7578 runs, Australia) is ahead of him in this matter.
