IPL 2026: Following the Indian government’s new laws, Dream11 and My11Circle withdrew from the IPL, causing a significant financial loss for the BCCI.
The BCCI earned substantial revenue from online gaming companies through the IPL, and the board was looking for ways to compensate for this loss. Meanwhile, Google has entered the IPL, which could now prove to be a windfall for the BCCI, potentially generating hundreds of crores of rupees in a single season.

Google Enters the IPL, becomes new Sponsor of IPL 2026
According to media reports, Google Gemini is set to partner with the IPL for the next three seasons. The BCCI is expected to announce this partnership deal (an AI-powered deal) soon. AI is now looking to establish itself in the world of cricket, which is why it is seeking entry into the biggest cricket league, the IPL.
It’s worth noting that ChatGPT partnered with the Women’s Premier League in 2026, a deal worth ₹16 crore for two years. Dream11 was the jersey sponsor for Team India, and after their departure, several companies tried to secure the sponsorship. However, the deal ultimately went to Apollo Tyres for ₹554 crore.
AI is constantly advancing, and it wants to influence India’s 140 crore people. This is why AI companies are focusing on India. These large companies believe that cricket is the best way to enter the Indian market, which is why this deal is happening.
The BCCI could secure several more major deals in the future. IPL 2026 is expected to start at the end of March, although the BCCI has not yet made any official announcement.
