IPL 2026 Updates: SRH looking Forward To releasing Mohmmad Shami before the Mini Auction
According to a report, SRH received several trade offers for the Bengal fast bowler, but the franchise has rejected them all. Furthermore, they are likely to release him and use the RTM card in the Auction for him.. They believe this could save their Purse.
Mohmmad Shami had a Disappointing IPL Season Last year
Last season, Shami managed just 6 wickets in 9 matches, averaging 56.16. His economy rate was also as high as 11.23 runs per over. The last time Shami’s economy rate was in double digits in a season was during the 2018 season for the Delhi Capitals (DC). Furthermore, this was the first time since 2018 that he failed to take double-digit wickets.
Shami is in excellent form in red-ball cricket. He took five wickets in the win against Gujarat. He also took three wickets in the first innings of that match. In Bengal’s first match of the campaign, he took seven wickets in Bengal’s eight-wicket win at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. It is also reported that recently appointed selector and former fast bowler RP Singh had a lengthy conversation with him on the sidelines. It remains to be seen whether he will make the squad for the two-Test series against South Africa, starting November 14th.
