MI vs DC – Jemimah Rodrigues: The third match of WPL 2026 was played between the Delhi Capitals and the Mumbai Indians. In this match, the Delhi Capitals team took to the field under the leadership of their new captain, Jemimah Rodrigues. Jemimah is leading the team in this league for the first time, and in her very first match, she has created history by breaking the record of her friend Smriti Mandhana.

Upon taking the field against the Mumbai Indians, Jemimah Rodrigues became the youngest player to captain a team in the Women’s Premier League. Jemimah assumed this position at the young age of just 25 years and 127 days.

Previously, this record was held by RCB captain Smriti Mandhana. In her first match as captain, Jemimah won the toss and decided to bowl first. Chasing a target is considered easier at the D.Y. Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

After losing the toss, Mumbai had a poor start. Amelia Kerr couldn’t even open her account, while G. Kamalini could only score 16 runs off 19 balls. However, Nat Sciver-Brunt played a brilliant innings of 70 runs (46 balls). Captain Harmanpreet Kaur played an unbeaten innings of 74 runs with the help of 8 fours and 3 towering sixes.

Finally, Nicola Carey added 21 runs, which helped Mumbai post a big total. For Delhi, Nandini Sharma took 2 wickets, while Sri Charani and Chinelle Henry took 1 wicket each.
