Meanwhile, media reports claim that the Rajasthan Royals (RR) are preparing to send their captain, Sanju Samson, to Chennai. As part of this deal, RR could receive star England all-rounder Sam Curran, along with Jadeja.

Ravindra Jadeja has been a key member of the Chennai Super Kings since 2012. He has played a crucial role in the team’s three IPL titles. During CSK’s two-year ban (2016-2017), he played for another franchise, but upon his return, he once again became the backbone of the team. His last-over batting against the Gujarat Titans in the 2023 IPL final secured Chennai’s fifth title. This moment is still fresh in the hearts of fans.

Jadeja has played 254 matches in IPL history, the fifth-highest for any player in the tournament. He is CSK’s leading wicket-taker, with a total of 143 wickets, with a best performance of 5/16. He took 20 wickets in the 2023 season, while he also performed brilliantly with the bat in the 2025 season, scoring 301 runs and hitting two half-centuries.
Interestingly, Jadeja began his IPL career with the Rajasthan Royals. He was part of RR’s title-winning season in 2008. However, in 2010, he was suspended for one season due to improper contract negotiations with the Mumbai Indians. He then played for Kochi Tuskers in 2011 and then joined CSK in 2012.

According to a report, to complete the trade, both franchises will have to submit an “Expression of Interest” to the IPL Governing Council, which will include the names of the players involved.
